Climate Scotland

June 21, 2021 By Jubilee Scotland Leave a Comment

Jubilee Scotland is one of the many organisations that support the Climate Scotland campaign!

This campaign is focused on demonstrating to leaders of the country  that many people in Scotland want strong and meaningful action to tackle the climate and nature emergency.

Climate Scotland is a partnership campaign of over 20 organisations (and counting), bringing the voices of the people of Scotland to the UN climate conference, COP26.

The global climate summit COP26 will be a major opportunity to re-energise efforts to tackle the climate emergency – a situation where urgent action is required to reduce or halt climate change and avoid potentially irreversible environmental damage resulting from it. The Climate Scotland campaign aims to collect 10,000 messages and share them at the COP26 talks in November. Through this, everyone in Scotland has the opportunity to show world leaders how much they care about the climate and nature emergencies.

What does debt have to do with climate?

In this time of climate emergency and urgent calls to investment for climate adaptation and mitigation, a question that must not be overlooked is that of debt.
