November 4, 2014 By Alys Mumford 1 Comment

We’re hugely excited to be welcoming Dr Mariama Williams to Scotland this November! Dr Williams, former head of the Jamaican Debt Network, is an expert in a range global economic justice issues, and will be taking part in a number of events around Scotland. We hope to see you at one or more of these great events!

price of memoryMonday 10th November – Glasgow

Join us for a screening of the innovative documentary ‘The Price of Memory’ charting the quest for slavery reparations in Jamaica. This will be followed by a brief discussion with Dr Williams. Places are limited, so make sure you book!

Tuesday 11th November – Aberdeen and Kirkcaldy

At lunchtime we’ll be teaming up with the Shared Planet student society to hold a roundtable discussion on Economic Justice at the Student Association – over a delicious bowl of soup! All are welcome to attend whether or not you’re a student – details here.

Then in the evening we’ll be at a public meeting at Bennochy Church in Kirkcaldy – this will be a great opportunity to hear more about the fight for debt justice, and meet Dr Williams. No need to book – just come along for an interesting evening! Find out more information here.

Dr Mariama Williams is a senior programme officer at the South Centre, and former head of the Jamaican Debt Network

Wednesday 12th November – Edinburgh

On Wednesday we’ll be hosting a public meeting at the Scottish Parliament, sponsored by Jean Urquhart MSP. We would love to have as many supporters there as possible, but spaces are limited, so please reserve yours by emailing Alys
