Fighting for Global Debt Justice – Aberdeen
November 11, 2014 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Dr Mariama Williams is a senior programme officer at the South Centre, and former head of the Jamaican Debt Network
Unjust global debt keeps millions around the world in poverty. Since the financial crisis the situation is only getting worse – with more and more countries being forced to take harmful austerity measures, and the poorest countries being pushed even further into debt distress. Dr Mariama Williams, feminist economist and global expert on debt and financial crises, has campaigned for years for global economic justice. She will be speaking about the need for action to tackle unjust debt and reform the way we deal with financial crises so the victims are not the most vulnerable in society. Join us for a chance to meet this inspiring speaker, and to discuss how we can be part of the movement for global economic justice!
