The discussion involved data analysis and insight into the impact of debt on Global South countries amidst a pandemic and a climate emergency from Iolanda, as well as powerful insight into the direct and detrimental impact of debt on Zambia from Eugene. Marilyn Croser followed these powerful words by discussing the actions Jubilee Scotland are taking in our campaign to Cancel Unjust Debt.
the Glasgow Climate Dialogues provided a platform for Global South experts to engage with key actors in Scotland ahead of COP 26. Jubilee Scotland played a key role in organising the dialogues, which were held in recognition of the disproportionate impact of climate change on the Global South and the need for Global South voices and priorities to be central to the summit.

Ahead of the UN climate conference (COP26) taking place in Glasgow later this year, Jubilee Scotland stands by Jubilee Debt Campaign (JDC) and allies; Afrodad, APMDD, CAFOD, Christian Aid, Global Justice Now, and Latindadd, in outlining the steps global decision-makers must take on debt if we are to address the climate crisis.
